SBSA partners with Gurobu Sports

SBSA and Gurobu have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) to collaborate for the benefit of the wider Baseball and Softball community in Singapore.

As SBSA welcomes its new Jurong Field grounds this year in 2023 (pending TOP), and continues to prepare its multi-disciplines (Softball Men & Women, Baseball Men, BB5, Slowpitch (Co-Ed) and various Age Groups including (U12/U15/U18/U23) to compete at regional and world-stage games in line with WBSC’s calendars, the organisation has also set out Coaching and Umpiring Commissions and looks set to expand its reach to implementing an SBSA Academy in time to come.

To anticipate the growth of activities and major games, SBSA recognizes the importance of partnering with a long-term reliable equipment and apparel supplier.

Ms Foo Pei, President of SBSA, shared that, “Following WBSC’s Global Partnership with Mizuno which runs through 2025, SBSA has also been in discussions with potential partners and sponsors since the resumption of activities post Covid-19. We are glad to be able to announce this partnership with Gurobu for the benefit of our national athletes and age-group teams. Such partnerships which provide some sponsorship in the form of discounted playing attire and game equipment will allow us to continue to invest in our teams so that they can represent Singapore at international and regional tournaments.”

Mr Daniel Heng, CEO/Director of Gurobu Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, also echoed that, “This win-win relationship between Gurobu and SBSA help in the promotion of the sport by giving the teams access to specialised and good quality equipment at affordable prices. This helps Gurobu to build brand awareness and reach out to a bigger audience and market in Singapore and the region. We hope to continue this relationship for the long term and be able to support SBSA in their teams’ activities and competitions.”

This MOU highlights both partners’ intentions to explore possible collaborations and initiatives, including;

1. General promotions and/or referrals to Gurobu platform via SBSA’s social media platforms;

2. Discounted items (where applicable) by Gurobu to SBSA and its High Performance Team for attires, equipment and provision of Mizuno Balls - an extension of discounts to SBSA’s athletes and affiliates are also being discussed;

3. To identify this partnership on websites, venue(s) and social media platforms; and

4. SBSA-sanctioned events and activities

The MOU is effective from 1 June 2023 to 31 December 2025, subject to further extensions agreed upon by both organisations.
